No updates and no help from customer support

I usually pay my amazon prime on the first of every month without fail. This month on December 1 2020 I was charged $12.99 for a month of prime.
Now it is December 22 2020 and now I am being told to update my payment information or loose my prime membership.
I chatted with amazon customer support and all they tell me is to use a different card, well I shouldn't have to update anything because I still should have until January 1 2021 because that is when my month is over and my membership is due so I am pissed off about the rest of my month of prime. My account still says amazon prime but I cannot use my membership to watch my smart tv and it says something about my membership being suspended and I wanna know why they are trying to charge me for prime before it is due?
This is my first and only problem with amazon but it is a big issue to me....now I fell like I am getting screwed and I don't like it.
The customer support agent had no clue what to do...other than suggest that I use a different card....well I would if my month was up....I don't owe them anything for December....
User's recommendation: Was a good company and still would be if they would fix their issue and stop expecting double payment in one month for prime. Also the customer support sucks and they act ignorant as in they have no clue what to do.
Monetary Loss: $12.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
Amazon Pros: Reviews of various products, Fast shipping good selection good quality, Good prices.
Amazon Cons: Customer service, Membership issues, Payment issues.
