Amazon review in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania: Malfunctioning Kindle reader

I have a Kindle reader and it won't charge and the only advice from Amazon is buy another one. I have had it less that a year. I won't buy another Kindle! I was on live chat with Amazon and the only choice was to buy a new one. I am retired and on a fixed income and cannot afford to buy another one. I thought this would be a good one and last me. I would not recommend this one to anyone that wants one that will last and be worth the money. I'm sure there are other brands out there that are more reliable and worth the money. I feel like another senior ripped off!

SHOULDA BOUGHT SOMETHING ELSE THAT REALLY WORKS FROM A COMPANY THAT ACTUALLY CARES. WE DO NOT CARE, at amazon.com, cause we just like your money.

Go cry on somebody elses shoulder, not ours. I know cause I am a member of the EXECUTIVE CUSTOMER RELATIONS TEAM at amazon.com (but don't try to call me cause I am having a bad hair day and forgot how to use the phone).

Look, if you continue buying from Amazon, OH WELL...

Buy something else that really works from a company that cares about its customers.

So, did you follow Amazon's advice and buy another Kindle?

WHY????? :?

If you buy a Kindle from Amazon, GOOD LUCK. Any problems with the Kindle and Amazon just says "Too bad.

We will gladly sell you another one".

I had a similar issue with a Kindle Fire HDX, and got the same answer; "BUY ANOTHER ONE".

Better yet, buy a really GOOD reader or tablet from someone else. :?

Amazon steals seller's monies to pay their bills

For the 3th time in a year since I have been selling online with Amazon, my account has been suspended and my funds held until Amazon gets around to paying. I am owed $1300 and it looks like I won't see it until January 2014, if not longer. This is not legal or ethical. Would anyone want to do business with people who held onto your money for 90+ days? No one would, which is why I am finally done with Amazon's *** business practices. I only stuck it out with Amazon because I was getting orders, lots of orders over the holiday season, but putting up with Amazon is not worth the hassle. They create problems for people and never have solutions. Just problems. I can see if I were a bad seller but I am not. All my orders go out in a timely fashion, within 2-3 days most of the time and I always provide tracking and ask for feedback. The problem is, Amazon's business ethics create bad buyers. If a buyer doesn't want to pay for an item, all they have to do is leave negative feedback, contact Amazon and file a sorry-*** complaint and Amazon refunds their money from the seller's account. The buyer gets to keep their item plus their money. I've been scammed by many of Amazon's buyers who pull this stunt and they do it because they know Amazon will let them scam the seller.... keeping happy customers and all that. It's becoming common knowledge Amazon will hold their seller's funds in order to pay their bills and make investments before doling out seller's pay......months later. The Internet is chock full of seller's complaints about this issue and I've gone to the federal trade commissioner twice and put in complaints. How this company keeps going like this, I have no idea since no one wants to associate with Amazon anymore as their reputation is catching up with them. If I didn't get orders, I would have walked away from Amazon months ago. But I am done now; I want Amazon to pay me what I am owed and then I want nothing more to do with them. Amazon treats everyone like dog *** in order to keep customers satisfied. Their warehouses are run like American slave factories and they show sellers no respect whatsoever. Until Amazon learns to conduct business the right way and change their unethical practices, I just want to collect my $1300 and tell Amazon where to shove off.

They are notorious for stealing good selling items from there sellers, and suspending seller accounts without any justification. Tying up seller funds for months. Think twice before you ever deal with Amazon.

I recently sold an item on Amazon and thought the fees seemed a little high. Upon review of their policies, I found that I was being charged the 15% fee upon the grand total of the order which is the item plus shipping costs (also gift wrapping if you choose that...

ICUrpoint thanks empathy and common sense response. The fees Amazon is charging is unreasonable.

They get 15% cut and the sellers a fraction of that. Realistically sellers are getting less than 3% profit yet assume 100% the risk. Amazon operations are set up to squeeze the weakest in their control. Amazon business model isn't the same as during the upstart of the industrial age?

If you hear people boasting of how much they are making on Amazon don't believe it. Sellers are in competition with people who either get merchandise for near free, lie and Amazon does nothing to them or the seller is a non-profit. The Amazon business model can not do anything good for the American economy.

Buyers before crowing about great deals ask yourself how important is a 'good buy'.

What kind of world will your children acquire? Someone will have to pay the price and if not you who?

Amazon supports fraudulent buyers

I sold my personal iphone 4 16gb on Amazon to this buyer by the name "elie Hermanos" claims the phone was not working so after multiple emails trying to help him he said no and sent it back. When I received the phone it was not the same one I shipped him , I hooked it up to itunes and it was a 32 gb with a broken screen. He filed an A to Z claim with Amazon, and even though I have receipts of the original phone when I bought it from AT&T that states its a 16 gb and a screen shot of itunes, Amazon still awarded this criminal with the claim. They are still waiting on me to send him a refund but quess what, he's not getting it. I closed my bank account etc. I work too hard for my money so some low life can steal it and on top of it all Amazon didnt care if I had proof or not. This is by far the worst experience I've had selling anything online. A to Z claims if you do research online is a way for fraudulent buyers to get free stuff and it's sad that Amazon doesn't back up the seller. Kathryn Hinshaw.

Ditto for me. I had a guy who after six weeks made a false claim that I sold him a Playstation 4 the "looked like it had been used".

Yeah. That's because it was clearly listed in the used category as USED like new. Without warning, Amazon refunded him, and attempted to extort $415 from me and the buyer has "no obligation to return the merchandise. This is theft folks.

It's Amazon assisted theft.

Report this to the Better Business Bureau. If enough of us stand together, it sends a consistent message. It takes about ten minutes to file a claim.

By the way, Kudos for closing your bank account. Don't let them get by with theft.

For my part, it just so happened that an old credit card was still my billing card, so my credit card company is not allowing the transaction to go through. And if they try to use another card, I'll report the transaction as fraudulent.

Because it is. Do not let Amazon steal from you.

This is happening to me too!! Customers from overseas/international buyers are doing this.

They used shippers here in the US and then these shippers send the items to them in their countries and it seems Amazon is a breathing ground for them!! Then they file bogus claims with Amazon saying that they didn't get the right item or it was never delivered!!

And there is no where on Amazon to report these buyers!! BE WARN!!!

Amazon to start collecting sales tax in Massachusetts in Nov. 2013

I am very disappointed in Amazon supporting "Taxachusettes". I thought at least they would fight for us because of there vested interest. I know they will be creating jobs here but those jobs will be a drop in the bucket and the average citizen will be hurt much more than the few techies they will hire in Cambridge will be helped. I know that having a presence here may require them to collect sales tax but they are backing Federal legislation to have it done everywhere. Taxes are not the answer to a failed economy. It's a lot like Mitt Romney's healthcare solution which is basically "just try to squeeze it out of the people" approach. That works for him because he's filthy freakin' rich!

Amazon - Texas Sales Tax Collection Deal

Amazon's deal with the State of Texas to willingly impose a Sales Tax on its Texas consumer will only hurt Amazon. Many Texas consumers will now shop online elsewhere as Amazon collapses to threats of litigation by Texas Tax Comptroller. The question of fairness to non-online retailers is mute here. Free Enterprise drives the way retailers and consumers come together. Amazon's deal with the Texas only separates it from the model that brought it great growth over the years. I and many others in Texas who traded with Amazon before July 1, 2012 (Tax Day) will now simply shop and buy elsewhere online. I love this country and will miss trading with Amazon. Free Enterprise and Capitalism makes this country great. Depart from it and Consumers will depart from doing business with you Amazon.

I will stop shopping at amazon now because of this tax BS. I live in Texas and I refuse to shop in a place that gives into that.

Why should I shop at amazon and pay a tax when I can get the same product elsewhere and not pay a tax.

And I'm a prime member. Goodbye amazon.com!

Hi Ina ,

I do not know if you have heard anything about this but it is a big problem for sellers like myself in Amazon It has been on the Amazon boards reports of sellers being told that they have a non functioning debit card on file

Starting May 29 th Amazon was sending me emails saying they could not pay me because my debit card did not work

My banking information had not changed only the date on the card so I updated it and was told they would try again in 2 weeks

That amount of time went by and again I was told they could not pay me so I re-entered my information as instructed by their phone rep and again I was informed I would be paid in 2 weeks

after 85 days I was getting more than little perturbed after speaking to rep after rep to no avail I was a little more than upset They were holding over 5000.00 of my favorite dollars I made a huge mistake I canceled my 6 pending orders and tried to close my account By canceling my orders I was over the limit on defects and was suspended I have 100% positive feedback on the site my metrics were great as far as customer satisfaction I just wanted to be paid I think it a little odd that 1000's of sellers could not be paid right before shareholders meeting There are many post about UK and European sellers not being paid and many in the US also Now I have been informed I will not be paid until October 28 th I was reinvesting my Ebay money and living on Amazon money back to the ol drawing board I guess because my EBAY sales are in the tank I have 1 million dollars in inventory and cannot buy groceries

Avoid Amazon's Online Bookstore

I needed a manual for my new class. I ordered it 10/9/10, it was delivered 10/18/10,but guess what? I do not have the manual,UPS has nothing in their system confirming that it was delivered, the seller(Chucks Half Off) says he pays extra for confirmations, but will not tell me if he has received a confirmation! I guess I am just going to pay for it and not receive what I paid for. Go to Borders,I have never had an issue with them, the school recommended Amazon, they said it would be faster.

Amazon; 140 days late, still no delivery

I ordered a cell phone from Amazon on January 3, 2008. Today is May 22, 2008, and the phone still has not been delivered. I contacted their customer service department several times, and was assured repeatedly that they were having troubles with their supplier but the phone would be available soon. But this is ridiculous. When a company offers something for sale, it's with the understanding that they actually HAVE that item to sell. What kind of *** offer something for sale, then string customers along for months until one turns up? If their supplier isn't coming through, what are they waiting for? Are they hoping to find one on the way to work? This is some of the lousiest customer service I've experienced for quite some time.
