Amazon now reports a delivery that was supposed to come next week is "running behind schedule, but UPS is working to make sure the delay doesn't affect the final delivery time." Entered the shipment number Amazon gave, and tried tracking it on UPS.

UPS has no record of the shipment - not surprising. Though gee, you'd think from the way Amazon reported the delay that it was a UPS problem rather than something Amazon itself should be apologizing for.

This is the day after I tried to cancel a shipment that apparently hadn't been shipped - but you have to check boxes to indicate what you want to cancel, and the boxes wouldn't accept checks unless you kept clicking and clicking and clicking.

And once the boxes were checked and an attempt made to cancel, the web page reported they had a temporary problem, please try again in a few minutes. Over and over again.

User's recommendation: What Amazon sells can be bought elsewhere - recommend doing so.

Product or Service Mentioned: Amazon Shipping Service.

Preferred solution: Just warning others - I'll cancel my account when last shipment arrives.

Amazon Pros: Looks like it offers a lot.

Amazon Cons: Lousy service.
