When you click on free shipping, for example, you are also consenting to their "prime" service fee that could add up to hundreds of dollars a year. This is in the small type and not easily recognizable on purpose in my opinion.
I had to put a stop to this charge immediately upon finding out because I did not opt in to this charge, which is buried in the small type and not conspicuous. Amazon's opt-in is not transparent as it should be, and neither are the other options you have for shipping that should be along side the Prime option on the same page and in the same size. I found this very deceptive.
There could be lots of people signed up and paying for Prime without knowing it. If so, contact amazon immediately and put a stop to your membership and insist on a refund for monies paid if you were duped.
Product or Service Mentioned: Amazon Prime Membership.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
Amazon Cons: Deceptive prime pricing practices, Calling the shipping service free when it is not, Not identifying non prime and less costly shipping options, Disguising a costly sign up to prime when choosing free shipping.
