AMAZON - ATROCIOUS SERVICE & FULFILLMENT

I have been a very active buyer on AMAZON to help rebuild my CD / LP collection. I've bought around 1,000 such items in the last 6 months & have had consistent issues with AMAZON USA's very poor service. 1. On 2 occasions my account was confused with another customer & I discovered this when checking my checkout basket ( given the no' of errors AMAZON's cart to checkout process creates YOU must check this v.carefully ). It is quite clear AMAZON does not maintain customer account confidentiality or separation properly which is a huge issue. As usual my email complaint was given the typical banal reply. 2. AMAZON protects dangerous sellers. In 1 case an order I had confirmed & accepted was subsequently cancelled by the seller with no explanation. On contacting the seller I learnt the seller, despite enabling international shipping, had decided not to ship to me overseas & gave some meaningless excuse. However when I tried to leave feedback on the seller to warn other overeas buyers about this seller's appalling service AMAZON prevented me from doing so. Despite at least 10 emails to AMAZON stating my case it still has refused to allow me to provide feedback & this cynical seller continues to offer its products on AMAZON to overseas buyers. I have persistently requested AMAZON provides an explanation for its appalling protection of buyers from cynical sellers but got nowhere. The conclusion is AMAZON's system of seller ratings is ***. Sellers can 'game' the system at buyers' expense & AMAZON knows this & does nothing whatsoever about it. Even more ironically the worst seller on AMAZON is AMAZON itself yet you cannot rate its atrocious service ! 3). AMAZON's fulfillment service - for direct orders - is the worst of any seller I have experienced. The falure rate is vvv.high & the whole process is full of poor information, untruths & incompetence. The typical chronology is this : a). Order is confirmed but no news from AMAZON as to why order fulfillment is late - usually prompting a series of unhelpful emails essentially telling me they do not know why. b) after several weeks computerised email tells me shipment is late, normally with no reason given, & requesting approval. c) several months later another computerised email saying cannot fulfill the order with some improbable excuse. 4) AMAZON's customer service operation is appalling. In many cases the operators do not read my email & give factually inaccurate replies prompting me to have to reply yet again. If I persist AMAZON typically stops replying. I suspect the service centre in in INDIA as the quality of the english in their emails & inability to answer my query with a satisfactory answer is almost 100%. In all my queries I can nly think of 1 operator that provided me with a sane, constructive & helpful answer. The irony is AMAZON claims to be the world's most customer-centric company when it is the opposite - a cynical organisation that allows sellers to rip-off buyers, that provides an abysmal fulfillment service & has a dreadful customer service. Amazon Purposely Lies About Product Availability

I placed an order for a TV which was on sale and showed in stock. A few hours later I receive an e-mail stating it my "in stock" tv would now be up to a 3 Month wait! I figured that was way too long to wait so I cancelled the order. No less than 24 hrs later I see Amazon has the tv back in stock but for double the price! I called customer service and even spoke to a Supervisor named "Dwight" in order to have my order reinstated since they shipping time was misrepresented. His solution?.. Re-order at full price. Thanks for nothing!

Be aware on returns! I shipped back this product along with 2 other orders in one box. Because just wasn't as expected and didn't need the items anymore. Its not right that Amazon made such huge deductions for the shipping on all three items. On this particular item...

You returned items for no other reason that you didn't want them anymore. Why would they pay for the shipping???

If they did that; anyone could order anything they wanted and return it free of charge. Which of course would ruin any business within a matter of days.

If the item was damaged, then you wouldn't have to pay return shipping.

You simply decided you didn't want the items anymore. Which is a totally different story.

Same thing happened to me. The package arrived in Hebron Ky a half hour from where i live , sat there for 3 days , then shipped to Grove City Ohio 2 hours away from my house .The next step is they are going to drive all the way from Columbus to Cincinnati with the package and drop it off at the U.S Post Office and have USPS finish the last leg of delivery.

Next time I'll pay the extra few dollars and use USPS or UPS to avoid these bozos. The thing is when you select standard shipping for anything ordered from Amazon they don't tell which carrier they will use.

Paid $40 for 2 day shipping, Amazon sends wrong item. Reship takes 10 days.

My mothers home was burglarized last week. Two days ago an emergency came up and she needed to go out of town for 1-2 weeks. She was understandably scared of leaving the home unattended. I told her not to worry, I would buy her a security system on Amazon and have it shipped in 2 days (which cost me an extra $40. Which is OK, I was paying for convenience.) She received it today, on time, as promised - BUT THEY HAD SHIPPED THE WRONG ITEM!! I hurried to re-order the item only to find 1) Amazon was out of stock and the 3rd party reseller was charging $30 more than I initially paid and 2) Their 2 day shipping would cost $194!! (that is not a typo. 194 dollars.) I had no choice but to get standard shipping and now the item she should have received TODAY will arrive in 10 DAYS and cost me $30 more. Their customer service is a JOKE. I was offered a $30 credit - Gee, thanks. That isn't even going to cover the gas I'll need to drive the 6 hours to her house to receive and install this thing. They just lost a long time customer.

Dishonesty at Amazon.com

I placed an order at Amazon.com. They have a program called Reward Points that is tied to their Amazon Credit Cards through Chase Bank. I intended to use the remaining reward points and then charge the remaining balance to the Amazon credit card. If I didn't use the points, I would have selected a different form of payment all together. Well, instead of following my payment instructions, their system threw out the points and charged the whole amount to the Amazon card. I became aware of this through an email I received from Amazon. I immediately contacted their online live chat customer service (I saved this conversation), and the person assured me that there was no problem. Repeatedly the individual misled me, saying that I did not need to cancel the transaction and that the points were used. As I thought, the transaction left out the points. If, as the customer, I knew that there was a problem from the information I had received from Amazon, then the representative knew as well, for their records included the same information I had. I was lied to and misled by this online representative for some unknown reason. All I can assume is that Amazon intends to cheat people with the Reward Point program. And, I should add, that the customer service department, following my complaint, offered me a $5 credit and the right to return and repurchase the item. They do not understand the problem! It is about dishonesty in their employees, and they do not seem to comprehend that it has wasted hours of my time, not to mention their resources because they are paying for the shipping as well as paying the payroll of the employees involved in this issue. The moral of this is that Amazon appears to be cheating people with their Reward Points program, and that they value their dishonest employees over their customers. I suggested that they give the $5 credit to the representative who lied to me because the company obviously values them more than the people who buy their products. I intend to avoid using Amazon and to warn others of their underhanded method of doing business.

Amazon and Fedex

I have spent thousands and thousands over the years ordering from Amazon.com. The service used to be excellent but suddently they started using FedEx Smartpost and no matter if I pay extra or not, my order will sit somewhere for days. Right now a book has been sitting in the Denver facility for two days. I live 2 hours away. Then I predict it will come to my town in Buena Vista, Colorado and sit there for two days. The facility is a half mile away from my house.Then to the P.O. for a day. SmartPost is dumbpost.It is not Amazon's service that I am complaining about but their use of Fedex Smartpost as their carrier. The Post Office has told me that Fedex Smartpost doesn't leave the Denver facility until they have enough to make the trip worthwhile. I don't know about that. I rarely use the FREE shipping with Amazon anymore but pay and it doesn't seem to make any difference in shipping time. Wake up, Amazon.com!!!

NO STARS! On TRAC stinks and is an Unreliable carrier. Dangerous drivers, tossing packages in the middle of the driveway late at night, too lazy to walk up to the front door allowing thieves to steal your holiday presents.

Amazon needs to reevaluate this contract and get anyone else!

Buyers beware, if you buy from Amazon, be sure to track daily and don't be surprised if your stuff gets stolen.

Amazon is a great company

I always order stuff from amazon.com and when I had issues with shipping they always fix it or give me a refund. I have refered other people to buy from this website they have nothing but great stuff to say about the service they provide, I am addicted to amazon.com, why wouldnt I be they always have the best prices in town they beat out any retail stores thanks amazon for caring about your customers! I even bought a baby car seat for a baby shower we threw at work it was a success thanks to you amazon.com!

Buyer, if you buy an item and the seller have comment on it, unless you buy it from the price offers page (most buyers do not), you will never see that comment nor you will see it in the check out page or the order final confirmation detail page...

After you buy it you will see it in the order detail page... buy then you are stock and have to pay to return it on your own expense because seller will tell you I had that info in the item seller comment.

Be careful when buying from Amazon... too many issues!

Customers be aware, when sellers update handling days Amazon does not currently reflect that causing you to think you will get items with extended handling right away but you will not... do not blame the seller, blame Amazon.

Also beware if you buy items fullfilled by Amazon, if you need help or support from the seller, Amazon will refuse to get you in contact with him and force you to send it back... make you unhappy customer and also unhappy seller too :(
