Ordered 2 shock assemblies for car. Item indicated would arrive in 2 days with my Prime membership. After checkout, order indicated it would take 4 days and each shock was coming from a different locations so one would arrive even a day later. Contacted them and they basically said, too bad, we reserve the right to ship as available. What am I paying $100/year for if I don't get items any faster than non-Prime customers. They tell me the 2-day shipping relates to travel time, not packaging and processing time. Told me no further communication would be accepted on this issue as they cannot change anything. You would think I cursed or yelled or something - just trying to get them to honor their commitments but I guess their customer service has just disappeared.

Amazon Prime, Slow delivery times. None of my recent orders have been delivered in the time frame indicated. "Prime" does not mean two day shipping, it means you prepaid for shipping when you paid for prime account. Then Amazon gets you the product when they feel like it. one example I ordered a generator, it had a confirmed shipment date. the Amazon site indicated delivery by the end of day. UPS site didn't even have the package on a truck. after waiting all day, we checked the Amazon site and the delivery was rescheduled for three days later! after the item was supposed to be delivered.

Arm and Hammer Curtain Fresh Odor Neutralizing Sheer Curtain Panel, 120 Inches, White was listed in Amazon.com on 4/7/2017 with guaranteed delivery date of 4/11/2017 for Prime members. I ordered 6 of them as my wife wanted them before a party on 4/15/2017. I placed my order on 4/7/2017. Till 4/10, I did not get any shipping update. Checked with Amazon on 4/11/2017 and found out that they do not have the inventory. They are listing the product under Prime with a delivery date without having the product in their inventory. Customer service informed that they do not have expected date when the order will be fulfilled and advised me if I need the product earlier, I can select the same product from another vendor in Amazon at a higher price. This is an unethical approach by the customer service to sell, so I cancel the order.

There is nothing unethical about this. They don't have the product in stock (and yes it sounds like an inventory glitch since they didn't know that right away) and they're letting you know that if you want to get it right away you'll have to order it elsewhere. Amazon is not "directing" you to a more expensive vendor and there is no benefit to them in any case.

Dear Anonymous,

First of all I am prime member and entitled for 2 day shipping. The listing clearly states guaranteed delivery on 4/11/2017 for Prime members.

If there is no inventory, then why it was listed for delivery by 4/11/2017. Are you an agent of Amazon and know something that we don't know. Is not this deceptive to customer promise something that you cannot deliver.

I am into healthcare and if i do the same in my healthcare delivery to you ......... how will you feel.

Update by user Apr 05, 2017

I did get contacted by amazon and was offered a $48 gift card (difference between amazon price and cheapest third party provider on their site). They did attempt to make it right.

In the end I chose to purchase it from Walmart for $20 less than the amazon price, so I cancelled the amazon order. I still plan to use amazon as a source, but will no longer give them preferential status as I have in the past.

Heh Heh. Apparently my wife used my e-mail for a complaint and set the user name to "Sears Lies" a while ago. I love her so much!

Original review posted by user Apr 02, 2017

I ordered the Razor dune buggy for my son early last week. At time of order item was coded as "in stock" and received a delivery date of April 1. Item wasn't received. I received an updated e-mail showing the three month delay with dates of July to August. I’m positive the item was “in-stock” at time of order. To verify I tried to re-order and got a June-July shipping date, not the 5-8 business days on original order. Essentially, I verified the 2-4 month tag was NOT on the item at time of order, but is listed now. BTW, I’ll get it a month later if order it now? Really? Creating a fresh order is faster than getting it by back order? The amazon system simply would not give a shipping date of April 1 if that "2-4 months" code was on it at time of order (verified by the current June to July timeframe I was just quoted on website just now). Trust me. It was labeled as "in stock" in the green lettering. I'm quite used to looking at it, or the "hurry only 3 items left in stock" verbiage they are fond of. That means they either oversold the units they had on hand (not my fault), or somebody after me had expedited shipping (paid shipping or prime member) and they got the unit (also not my fault). The first customer service rep wanted ME to pay the extra $50-100 more to buy it from one of their third-party providers who has it in stock. I shouldn’t have to pay for a mistake that was not mine. Not when other online providers sell it for less than amazon. Yes, I paid a few more bucks to buy it from amazon. Not much, but it’s the hazards of being a loyal customer. After about a half hour, I was transferred to a manager who promptly hung up on me after about a minute (no screaming, but there was tone at this point). The second call into customer service the manager refused to do anything and said I must be mistaken. Even after I explained to them that the system currently wouldn’t let me get an 8-day delivery verifying the “2-4 month delay” language was not there at time of original order. What they should do is source it from one of their third-party partners (and pay the difference). It allows them to meet your obligation within a reasonable time frame for a small cost. Clearly there was a failing on their part and they should do the right thing to make it right with their valued customer. I’ve done nothing wrong except trusting their delivery of an “in stock” product in a reasonable time frame. I am very accustomed to doing most of my online shopping through Amazon. It’s my first stop and usually my last stop if the prices aren’t too far apart. If they choose not to make this right, they will not only loose this order, but all of my business. Whether they realize it or not, they have some tough competition. Wal-mart has really stepped up their “online” game in the last year or two. When I price match Amazon, they always have the same product at nearly the same price. Surprisingly often actually. Until now I’ve always stayed an Amazon customer in those instances. To the tune of $1500 last year, and on pace for probably $1500 this year. I’m still not sure how I spent that much at Amazon last year, heh heh. I was actually surprised when I went back through my order history. Their customer service has made it clear, they don’t want that customer. Now I need to figure out who will be my “go to” online retailer… I’m 46 and this is the only time I’ve posted something like this to a website. They should be proud.

Amazon scam

THIS IS THE AMAZON WAY OF SHIPPING. They tell me when it's coming and I take time off from work to be there for it, right up until the last minute they still say it will be there by 8:00 pm, next morning it's still not here and delivery is changed to days later. This is an on going tactic that Amazon uses to try an force people onto Amazon Prime, they purposely slow shipping to non Prime orders to try and get you to pay more next time. This is just a scam to boost their profits. It's my practice these days to see if Ebay, or sellers own website has a better deal before I go with Amazon, many times there are better deals elsewhere. So, Research things on Amazon, then look around before you buy, You might be able to get it cheaper and faster.

" by 8:00 pm, next morning it's still not here and delivery is changed to days later."

Who changed the delivery date? Was it Amazon or was it the shipper like Fed Ex, USPS, UPS etc.

Was the order fulfilled by Amazon?

Was the order fulfilled by the seller?

Where was the package coming from?

Where was it sent to be sorted before it came to you? Was it perhaps sent to a snow affected state which would slow down delivery?

What's my point you ask? My point is without real detail you come off like a clown making a silly complaint.

While we appreciate your time and comments, reviews must adhere to the following guidelines: http://www.amazon.com/review-guidelines Amazon Prime Now ★ from Cindy Wiltz on January 14, 2017 Never using this service EVER again!!! For Amazon to have a delivery service, that delivers in daily, is a genius idea. However this the second time I've bought something from Amazon Prime before and had no problem receiving it even though I was not home. With that order it was waiting outside, had one almost expired goods, but for the most part it was an okay experience. Today I because I wasn't feeling well I decided to use the service again. I followed the same process and waited for the driver between 8 and 10am. After 10am I looked outside because I didn't hear a know at the door, thinking like the last and the driver would have left the items outside. He didn't. I checked my Amazon orders and couldn't find my order. I thought it was odd but I decided to give the driver a couple of hours. After checking outside again and finding nothing, I called customer service which was apparently an overseas call center for Amazon. After explaining how my order was never delivered, I was told by the rep, at first that he couldn't find my order after giving him my order number several times from the email showing my order was processed. After several attempts, I asked the rep if there was another department he could consult. The rep hurriedly placed me on hold then came back and said He could not get help from another department and then asked me what was my question. SERIOUSLY!!! I asked for a supervisor and I was given Emmerin after minutes on hold. Emmerin apparently had all my information and informed me that the order was "undeliverable" and that I was refunded. When I asked why, Emmerin consulted the driver's notes which said I was not home. Even though I waited all morning (sick) for someone to knock for the delivery. When I told Emmerin that the drivers notes were not accurate because I sat and waited for the driver. Emmerin's attitude was to defend the driver when I protested this claim. Then he stated that he was not the driver as if this made things better. To say the least this has made me rethink my association with Amazon.com

Amazon is now a tax collector

Amazon has colluded with the State of WY, NE, UT, and IA recently to agree to lay tax on goods you buy online and give it to the State governments. I closed my Amazon account today. When mom and pop do not have the product I need, I have to pay shipping to get it online. I will be darned if I am going to pay sales tax for something purchased out of state. Amazon does not get the fact that there is NO internet sales tax but has gone and signed agreements with State Governments to collect it anyway. BOYCOTT Amazon. You can find the products you need online from other online merchants that are not in bed with your local Governors.
