I have great respect for Amazon's business acumen, but the company's streaming service is a joke. Amazon is one of the richest companies in history.

Yet the streaming service constantly fails.

Two nights ago, our family was watching "The Royal Tenenbaums." We paid $1.99 for the movie. With about a half hour to go, the movie froze. We could not get it back. We exited the service, then went back in.

It took a few tries, but we got the movie back. But the movie was playing at a point that was about 45-60 minutes earlier than where we left off. We couldn't fast forward through the film either. Every time we did that the screen froze.

It was pretty annoying.

We paid $1.99 for this crap? I mean, seriously?

This was not our only problem with Amazon. Last night, we tried to watch "Funny Girl," which the service offered. We clicked on the movie.

What did we get? Something went wrong, your service told us. We tried again. Same message.

This has happened many times with Amazon.

The service is unreliable. As a businessman, Mr. Bezos know that predictability is the essence of a service business. We can't rely on Amazon.

My daughter and I would completely shut Amazon out and stop using the service, even with all the rich offerings the streaming service advertises.

We are close to switching over to Apple TV for streaming.

We are asking for a refund for the $1.99 for the flawed experience we had with "The Royal Tenenbaums" on Friday night.

And we are asking Amazon, yet again, to work hard on improving your streaming service so it's reliable. Otherwise, we're gone.

User's recommendation: Don't use Amazon's streaming service.
