That is not why. A computer makes the decision based on direct contact with sellers and editing or deleting reviews.

It’s a very flawed system. I appealed twice and finally got a human to review and reinstate me. However either the computer blocked me again or I was never reinstated because 2wks later I still couldnt review. So I again contacted them via email and they responded the next day stating I am again reinstated and to allow 24hrs.

So I won’t know if it worked this time until tomorrow. I’m blown away amazon is allowing this to happen to honest customers and has done nothing to correct it overall. The crazy thing is I see reviews posted all the time that say they received a discount in exchange for an honest review like what?! How is that ok?

I wish someone high up in amazon would address this issue cuz they are losing customers left and right. Most people will just cancel their prime and not try this hard to get it fixed

Amazon - What The *** Is This???????????????

Got this email from Amazon after shopping there for 20 years and spending thousands of dollars. And Amazon sent the email with no proof whatsoever. Told my lawyer who is speaking with the executive offices telling them SEND THE PROOF. Executive offices at Amazon told my lawyer heads are going to roll for doing this horrible thing to customers like me. This review moderator is an uneducated jerk and can't send the proof because they don't have any proof of what they had the nerve to say in the most disgusting email I have ever seen. I see this is happening to hundreds of Amazon customers. Amazon's loss. I am now asking the sellers for their own websites to purchase products I want. Amazon you are horrible and disgusting. I used to rave about how wonderful Amazon.com was - WOW was I wrong. Everybody is shopping at other sites now. Good. I hope you go out of business. And you still haven't answered my lawyer who demands proof of your false allegations....why? Because you don't have it. And he's taking you to Court. Unbelievable way to treat your customers who have been shopping at Amazon for decades. Here's the disgusting email that I know a lot of people have been getting: Hello, We have determined that you have violated our Community Guidelines. As a result, we have suppressed all of your reviews, and you will no longer be able to post community content on Amazon. This includes Customer Reviews. Customer Reviews are meant to give customers unbiased product feedback from fellow shoppers. Because our goal is to provide Customer Reviews that help customers make informed purchase decisions, any accounts and reviews that could be viewed as advertising, promotional, or biased will be removed. Your community privileges may have been revoked for one or more of the following reasons: -- Elements of your account indicate a relationship to sellers, publishers, or other reviewers of the products you review. -- Your reviews were posted in exchange for compensation, such as gift cards to purchase the product, product refunds, review swaps, or free or discounted products. -- You requested free or discounted products in exchange for reviews. We made this decision after carefully considering your account. This decision is final, and your community privileges will not be reinstated. We cannot share any further information about this decision, and we may not reply to further emails about this issue. Review Moderator Amazon.com Hey Amazon - This email you sent to me is illegal. You have committed Defamation of Character/Slander. Have a nice time in Court with my lawyer. Unbelievable.

Same happened to me! It’s not an “uneducated review moderator” making the decision lol and why get personal?

It’s a computer doing it. I called and reported it and they filed a complaint with review board, then I got an automated response from the review board stating they carefully reviewed my account and found I was in violation. Well it was obvious to me that was b.s. and this was a form letter so I replied to it stating: clearly you did NOT carefully review my account because if you had you would see I was innocent and restored my account!!!

About 7 days later they replied saying my reviews and privileges were restored. I replied directing them to this site and letting them know this was a huge problem and not isolated.

So don’t give up! You have to complain at least twice before a human gets involved.

I've had this too. I'm a genuine customer (high spending, longstanding) and my reviews were genuine.

I've never received ANY incentive or reward of any kind. I hope you take them on and win.

There's thousands of us out there who've been treated this way. Enough for a class action I should think

So they give a bunch of "potential" reasons but will not discuss the matter further or let you know what the true reason was? That's unfortunate and really frustrating.

Not illegal, however....(I'm a lawyer). I personally would stop using Amazon and will myself as well if this is how they handle things.

Well here in the UK it's breach of Data Protection because the law says that they must correct incorrect info. So if they fail to do that it could become a legal matter

Amazon - Great everyday laptop case that can act as an overnight bag

4.0
Details
This is billed as a laptop case, in that meaning that its suitable for short business trips as it has a compartment at the rear that supposedly can be used for clothes. As a business traveller of 13 years I've had to cram clothes into small spaces to avoid the dreaded hold baggage for an overnight trip and the compartment in this bag does not offer a great deal of space. With careful and creative packing I'm sure you can fit a days worth of clothes maybe even two but in terms of clothes and shoes in there don't expect too much. The main saving grace is that the PC compartment is about the same size and will comfortably accept a 15" laptop and has another big document compartment which could also be used for clothes if you actually live the paperless office we all supposedly work in. Combined with a generous front compartment for peripherals, pens, phiones etc this is a very capable laptop/overnight bag The handle for the roller part can be zipped away allowing the bag to operate solely as a normal laptop bag but obviously there is quite a bit of extra weight with the handle, wheels and structure to support them. Using the case in roller mode is quite frankly brilliant, the roller action is smooth and the case seems almost perfectly balanced and I've experienced non of the twisting over that can often happen with roller cases.

Amazon - Fire TV Cube - Neat device, but it has its flaws

Can't post a review about a defective product because Amazon deemed my reviews suspect

1.0
Details
Yesterday two things happened: (1) I realized that Amazon has removed all my reviews (mostly book reviews) and (2) I was unable to post a negative review about a cellphone battery I received from an Amazon seller the day before that simply does not hold a charge because Amazon stated that my reviews could be fake. I have never written a fake review in my life. My last book review stated that I'd received the book from the author (self-published) in exchange for a fair and honest review. My policy is to only review books I read and that have merit, in my opinion. But now my research shows that Amazon is cracking down on people who know the author reviewing their book. Amazon is also frowning on authors who write in the same genre reviewing each other's books. This means that if Henry Miller and Laurence Durrell were alive, even though they once endorsed each other's fiction, they would be banned from Amazon. Go figure. Ah yes. I see you'd like a photo, screenshot, etc. So here's a photo of my review that isn't there anymore:

Why are all my Amazon Reviews wiped without warning?

4.9
Details
Just got this message today when going to leave a review. "Your previous review of this product did not comply with our Customer Reviews Guidelines. Amazon does not permit reviews from customers whose relationship to the product or seller may be perceived as biased." Before their terms changed, I did leave reviews for products but I was selective in what I got. So why did they not send an email telling me this or warning me to take down my so-called "biased" reviews? I would have gladly done so but instead, they hosed all my reviews, including ones I purchased myself. Many of those reviews I purchased myself had quite a few helpful votes. Basically free marketing material for them, now it is all gone. Their loss at this point but I am going to get some answers from their customer support. Barbaric that they don't give you a warning but instead wipe it all. I might go leave reviews on Walmart instead.

You're not alone. This has happened to thousands of people, including me.

It's something going on with Amazon's algorithms in detecting incentivized reviews. Don't expect them to fix it for you though if you contact customer service. I haven't heard back from them but other people have received replies stating that their "account has been carefully reviewed" and it was decided that you were accepting money or compensation for a review, their decision is final and any further emails will be ignored.

Just stop buying from them. I canceled all my memberships and took all of my credit cards off file.

It is not personal, it is decided by a computer and not based on content. It’s based on contact with seller, being reported by other customers (so that technically can get personal but not by amazon employees) and deleting, revising, reposting reviews.

Same happened to me! It’s been 6 months since I left this review. What I’m really hating is that I am also banned from posting specific questions about products.

A registered letter that I sent to Amazon using the address provided by pissedconsumer.com was OPENED and returned “Unable to deliver-wrong address.” Very disappointing that Amazon has become so sleazy.

My requests for consideration continually result in the form letter described by Kelly0000. Her comment gives me hope that maybe someday I’ll get results.

Cons

Although your algorithms or bots have mistaken my reviews as biased or dishonest, I am glad Amazon is taking measures to keep reviews honest. Meanwhile, I will save a lot of time now that I'm not obligated to leave reviews anymore.

Amazon - *** Product, *** Customer Service

I had my review priviledges taken away by Amazon as well because I contacted them about their Amazon Fire Tablet that got stuck in the boot loop after just 4 months. I wasn't asking for a refund or discount. All I wanted to do was get help from Technical support but they told me they couldn't do anything and tried to sell me another tablet. So I tried to post a bad review about their product and customer service but the site wouldn't let me. So I contacted them back and was transferred to numerous departments. A month later, I finally get a letter back that said I have violated something and cannot post anymore reviews. LOL

Amazon - Item feedback posting denied.

Update by user Aug 03, 2018

As of today 09/03/18 I have not received a reply from Amazon, as I did not think they would. I believe that most individuals who have the gift of having good common sense already know why this is.

Original review posted by user Jul 04, 2018

Can someone tell me what Amazon rule I might have violated? Your review could not be posted. Thanks for submitting a customer review on Amazon. Your review could not be posted to the website in its current form. While we appreciate your time and comments, reviews must adhere to the following guidelines: http://www.amazon.com/review-guidelines EASELAND Patio Umbrella Outdoor Umbrella Offset Cantilever Hanging Umbrella Crank for Garden Market (10Ft, Beige) from Katherine Azarigian on July 4, 2018 Issues with my purchase I would recommend that you check out umbrella completely before assembling even if the shipping box appears to be properly sealed. First problem I encountered was the 4 bolts which secure the umbrella base to the stabilizer legs were missing. After resolving that isuue and setting up the umbrella I found that the crank handle was warped so, that in order to open or close the umbrella it was necessary to pry it outward in order to get it passed the ffame. My wife wrote to the seller about this issue and their response was that they did not understand what she was refering to and asked if she could send a photo of the defective piece, so we did just that. Their response, " they did not have a replacement and that we might be able to locate one locally ". My response, Defective, return to Amazon for credit. Maybe what I received was just one in a million, just providing a heads up and non support for this item.

I found that Amazon rejects reviews automatically if they contain certain words. Maybe they didn't like the word crank (slang for a drug).

I had one rejected for the word 'cumbersome'. Changing one word can often get it allowed.

Yeah Amazon has a HUGE problem when it comes to disabling prime members privileges to write reviews stating " You can not write a review for this product (even though this product is totally different than the one I'm accused of being biased for, which is also bullish*t) because you have been deemed biased towards this product." What a bunch of feminist/socialistic censoring communists. They have a bunch of overly sensitive millennials working in the review department so when any one employee gets their panties in a bunch over something they read (even if it is absolutely true and honest) they have the magical right to disable your privileges to write not only that one review your being accused of being bias but for any review in the future as well as deleting the numerous reviews you have posted in the past.

All because some cuck from the review department was on the rag that day. It's pathetic.

Similar thing happened to me this week. I noticed one day all my reviews were gone!

I contacted Amazon via chat and they assured me it would be escalated to another team and fixed. I have never violated Amazon's review policies and always try to write professional reviews with lots of pictures and helpful info. I also do not receive anything for free and it's all purchased with my actual Amazon credit card, so they could easily verify every single purchase I've made. I don't review books, so not related to or friends with any authors.

Update: This morning I get a canned response saying I "violated their review policy" and that all my reviews were deleted and I can never post reviews again. Also, they say they cannot discuss it further and will not respond to replies. Seriously? Maybe because there is no actual violation and you have no legitimate reason you can use to explain your actions?

All that came AFTER having a very positive chat session with Amazon Help on how they were going to fix my account, had copies of all my reviews saved, etc. My take on it all... maybe it's not Amazon deleting them at all. Maybe they've been hacked and they really can't figure out why it's happening.

So now I have to wonder if my account is compromised. Why would they delete legitimate reviews when they allow "Vine Voices" and affiliate clicks? It sounds like they are deleting reviews from many people who have legitimately purchased and reviewed 100's - 1000's of products, yet Amazon doesn't really care about losing these loyal customers. I write reviews as a way of giving back and to try and help other buyers make informed decisions about purchases, because let's face it, not everyone has a huge disposable income.

I know I personally will sometimes read every single review before making a big ticket purchase, because I'm currently on disability. Sorry Amazon, but something smells fishy here and it ain't the seaweed wraps you sell.

Amazon - Bought wheelbarrow, was sent bucket for wheelbarrow, seller lied about transaction

3.7
Details
I bought a wheelbarrow on Amazon, the seller shipped me the bucket for the wheelbarrow, but not the rest of the parts. The ad was clearly for the entire wheelbarrow with no other purchase possible. Seller (Home and Garden) told Amazon it was for tray only as they "don't carry whole wheelbarrows but have replacement trays only". After many days Amazon finally figured it out and refunded our money, but they now refuse to allow me to publish this information in a review on their site. Amazon is artificially misrepresenting and deleting unfavorable reviews to the benefit of the seller and at the expense of the customer.
