Amazon gift Cards are a total scam and resolution will prove impossible if you have an issue with an order. Once purchased, these cards lock you into their scheme. I had received a gift card through my company and ordered an item through their website. The item was received defective. My experience taught me that Amazon is mostly a drop shipper and the order was through Zen direct, a company in CA. What surprised me was the shipping label on the package was from Walmart. This transaction resulted in a drop ship of a drop shipper and the invoice from Walmart contained a price significantly cheaper than what I paid. To make a long story short, i went through their return process an policy only to be told i would receive 100% of the refund on my Visa. This prcess took weeks by the way and i was provided the refund again by gift card instead. Now I am forced to use Amazon for another order. I asked for a physical form gift card so I could regift to someone else and Their customer service could not help me with that. By the way, Amazon directs all their calls oversees to the Philippines. i will never make another purchase through amazon again. Gift card users and customers beware.

This is the second almost identical review with all the same details. I call bs, by reading both of your reviews it looks like you're the scammer, not Instagc.

Why not just verify your account instead of trying to scam them by circumventing their fraud detection and TOS? Making a second account makes you look like a scammer. I had to verify my account after moving a couple of times and changing my address. It was easy.

Although I do agree customer service is hit or miss. Some mods/admins are wonderful, some are outright horrendous, very rude and should most definitely not have a job in customer service.

I highly doubt they'd treat people so poorly if they were face to face instead of through a computer screen. But for the most part the employees are very kind and helpful, but you always have a few bad apples and that's everywhere.

Amazon does NOT respect buyers at all either, I have had this problem happen to me as an buyer on amazon, I am happy that their no longer targeting whole families but still I don't like this type of drama that amazon has picked to use, when they don't agree with you about an A-Z claim, and close your account because of it, even if you sent them an bunch of jpg images showing that the product was damaged from the 3rd party seller had sent you. also note I wish bing.com removes their amazon gift cards, I don't think they should support them anymore, I wish they would provide gift cards for book places like barnes and noble instead of amazon, or somewhere the buyer doesn't have to be afraid of the online store closing their account and acess to the gift cards that they earn by doing web searches for months at a time etc.. I hope you get my point here. as an buyer and student buying books I had this problem while using their A-Z claims about gift card from bing.com sources, also not sure but I think they broke some califonia law on gift cards not sure, and again I don't plan on using amazon.com anymore myself, since I don't want them to cause my family any more problems then they have done so by this message to me, afterwards they reply with an different message and different subject back to me on this topic of closing my account, the item which got it closed was an used dvd set that had came damaged, that one item made it pass their A-Z claims limit I guess I was never awere their was an limit untl I got the message below at this point its too late, if they did break California law someone else needs to go after them for it, since I don't like this kind of drama, nor problems from the one item that clearly I will not see an refund to my gift balance since they closed my account, also note I am an learning disabled student that they sent this message to. my learning problems are in English and math subjects if your wondering about that. I received an amazon fire stick and sufficient gift cards to cover one years subscription to amazon prime as a Christmas present from my family, i loaded the cards into my account expecting them to be used after my free months trial to pay for my first years subscription. However money was charged to my credit card and when i queried it with customer services was told that gift cards cannot be used in these circumstances. I explained that i had found no mention of this restriction on their website or in the terms and conditions relating to gift cards and was extremely unhappy with my credit card being charged when there was sufficient funds in my account. Iwas told the company had made a"business decision" to impose this restriction and there could be no exceptions. Realising i would not get any satisfaction i registered a complaint but i am not holding my breath fot a favourable outcome

Amazon - Gift Card Refund?

I purchased a book through Amazon with a holiday gift card. The seller cancelled the order, but you can not get refunds on a gift card. I got passed off from one CSR with a heavy accent to another, neither of which I could completely understand. They asked me the same questions repeatedly, before I had to ask for a supervisor. The supervisor acted like he was doing me a huge favor giving me my money back. After the two CSR's before him my patience was running thin. BAD SERVICE!

You are only charged for an order when it ships. If the seller cancelled the order, you were never charged. Your story is bs.

SCAM! Don't buy gift cards from Amazon!!!

I bought 2 gift cards and sent them electronically to my family's email. when they went to redeem them, it said they had already been redeemed. apparently amazon let a random email (not my family's email) redeem them. I called three times and spoke with them and chatted online twice and in the end they said "take it up with your bank. there is nothing we can do." I have been a customer for years... no longer! One of their "nice" representatives said that this random email had bought a lot of stuff with gift cards... which makes me assume that this happen a lot. If a company knows this is happening and they have the address to where all of the stuff is shipped.. why can't they handle it? Why do I need to be bothered to take this issue up with my bank? I didn't get hacked... THEY DID.

I canceled my Prime tonight. Amazon has gotten worse n worse.

Two day shipping is make believe. Constant shipping issues they dont resolve. (Who ships a light bulb in am envelope) imagine how that arrived. The Prime movie selection has became worse of all my streaming choices.

And searching fir anything has became impossible. If i search for mens Mizuno 9.5. Dont shoe me women's sports bras. Mens dress shoes size 12.

Camping gear....

I just did several orders from Jet back to back. ZOOM. Not one error.

Maybe not the selection but they can manage their business. I don't mind paying more to buy local or to pay for shipping from a company that treats you with respect and professionalism and integrity.

You can see in the blog post picture, while it deserves say "1 day shipping" it also states to open the gift card email and click redeem. This leads you to believe you will receive a gift card through email.

The other picture shows the EGiftCard label that changes when you select amazon.

Not necessarily a scam, but not advertised clearly. I can see many consumers purchasing an amazon gift card expecting something digital.

I stumbled upon WeUsePayPal when I discovered Amazon doesnt accept paypal as a method of payment. WeUsePayPal has a site set up that makes you believe you could purchase an Amazon E-gift card using your paypal, from which you will receive through email within 30 minutes and can purchase through amazon that way, only adding a fee to the gift card. In my case, I was looking for a way to use paypal to purchase an amazon product that had a special which was ending in 2 hours. My assumption was, paypal takes a few days to transfer to your bank, so that wont work, but I could use WeUsePayPal and purchase an e-gift card for amazon and purchase the product within 30 minutes. I fell for it, made the purchase and here I am, 12 hours later with no e-giftcard. After emailing the company, I get a reply with a tracking number stating that these are physical gift cards with one day shipping. I go back to the site, and thats when I notice, the big "EGiftCard" and "sent to your paypal email address on file within 30 minutes" disappears when selecting AMAZON. Basically, the company screwed me out of 10 dollars as I could have just waited for the money from paypal to transfer to my bank in the same time it will take to receive my gift card, only without the 10$ fee.

WeUsePayPal clearly stated in all areas that Amazon Gift cards were sent by 1 day shipping; this was clear before I purchased and also is included this information in the email confirmation of my order...

Also, FWIW they have now added the ability to purchase eGift cards delivered in 30 minutes or less....

I used a $100 gift card for a order..it went through and they took the funds from my checking account as well..they agreed that they saw the error on their end..refuse to credit monies back..wanted me to mail items back first...I am beyond furious ..I believe it is a scam..they are hoping you order again with them ..they said I still had a $100 balance on the gift card... I want my checking account credited ..very shady...no help at all.

This is regards to my latest order with Amazon- I have a complaint about how you are trying to trap the buyers- I had placed this order and on checkout I was shown this message- "YOUR COST WOULD BE 52$ INSTEAD OF 82$. If you apply for Amazon Rewards Visa Card Now and you'll get an Instant 30$ off." Now if you understand it in english that means your current order will be 30$ off when you apply for the card. And I fell into the trap, I did apply, it opened up a a pop-up it discounted me 30$ dollar but When I came back to my main screen, My order was still pending and of 82$ not 52$. I placed it to try and see if I get an ""INSTANT"" 30$ off. Which from what I understood by now that you'll get only when you buy your second order, you can use that 30$ card later not an ""INSTANT"" off as they mislead you. My concern is why is misleading language used on checkouts. Why is that ""INSTANT"" off. And I really don't want this card now. You can keep it. I contacted Chase but they say they don't cancel once applied.They even had a hard inquiry on my credit score which effects my score badly. I am really really not satisfied with this way. Please stop misleading and let me know how do I cancel my Visa card application without my Credit score being effected. And When I call Amazon care they say Chase will give 30$ off. Chase say they don't do it, Amazon pays you gift card. What a fraud. They won't cancel your card, won't give you off. What a poor way of earning money and business. I'd rather stick to other online stores. Thanks amazon for forcing this card on me for nothing.

With 3 amazon $100 cards for my kids- xmas, i was told they had to scan my id for the purchase. No employee new why and none could tell me how long it would be stored. I was paying cash. Im outraged, and will not go back ever to Walgreens.

They scammed me on three offers. I was downloaded the apps they said were part of the offer and spent hours, days even, doing the required tasks.

I put in a ticket and all they do is refer to other people in an endless loop. I can't believe no one has sued them.

Amazon delays "free shipping" order

It seems to me that Amazon is purposely delaying mailing my order to force me to pay postage next time. Instead, after using them many years, they have lost me as a future customer. I placed two separate orders. One was a restaurant gift card that appeared in their goldbox offers. I ordered the gift card 7 days ago and Amazon has still not mailed it. I also ordered sporting equipment 10 days ago and Amazon has still not placed the item in the mail. I have called to complain, and the only solution they offer is to sign up for a free month of Amazon Prime, cancel my current order, and re-order the item using my Amazon Prime account. Next time I see something I like on Amazon, I will search for it from non-Amazon suppliers. I have found that other sellers place the items in the mail within 24-48 hours, while Amazon took my money right away and hasn't even attempted to mail the items. So sad.
