Amazon - Executive Team doesn't get it

Update by user Dec 17, 2013

No change. Actually no response either. Didn't even get anything via drones.

Amazon still has this "virtual" $30 sitting somewhere but won't give it to the cusomter to use as a gift.

I sit here letting everyone know how incredibly *** Amazon is. A now-former avid Amazon buyer hasn't purchased anything in 30 days and will not in the future.

Godo customer relations Amazon!

Original review posted by user Nov 16, 2013

Granted any company this big and amount of retail business is going to have complaints but mine is simple. Yet Jeff Bezos' Executive Team doesn't get (or refuses to get it). Went to Amazon to buy a $398 watch - last one in stock. Clicked on Purchase when Amazon - **Amazon did this** -generated a pop-up: Apply for an Amazon Credit Card and we'll take $30 off this purchase! Don't need another credit card but 30 bucks is 30 bucks, right? Wrong! Well I filled out the app and clicked Submit. I get a Amazon pop-up stating, "Our system is down right now." No $30 off. Well it was the last ("supposedly") watch of its type so I bought it for $398 thinking Amazon will contact me re: the app and give the $30. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zip. I had to contact Amazon. Sure enough I was right, Amazon's site was down right then and they want to make it good. They'll give me $30 credit. Now two months later I still don't see it on my statement. Not so fast, buster. Amazon: "We'll credit your Amazon account with $30." So now a month later I figure I'll use that $30 to buy a Christmas gift for someone who loves Amazon. Not so fast, buster #2. That is $30 promotional money. Promotional money? That means - and they literally fault me for NOT reading the Account Conditions when I bought the watch - I can't use promotional money to get a Gift Card. They totally dismiss my argument: If YOUR system had worked properly I would have paid $368 for the watch not $398 and had $30 CASH in my pocket – period. Amazon Executive Team, i.e., Bezos henchmen, refuse to answer, dismissing my argument and repeatedly tell me I should have read the Conditions Agreement. First and last time I deal with Amazon. Hopefully I'll be able to tell numerous people about this experience. That $30 "promotional money" will sit in Amazon's coffers forever.

well lesson learnt, it shows always read the terms and conditions, surprising the amount of people who don t and then complain. I know this from experience having worked in a bank for many years the customers complain about charges etc which are clearly stated in terms and conditions.

Don t blame a Company for keeping to rules that are set down you have to click to confirm you read terms and conditions so no use crying now. As I say lesson learnt

Amazon Enable Others to Use Your Credit Card

I bought a Kindle Reader from Amazon as a gift for someone. Amazon fraudulently then provide the recipient with the option to use my credit card to buy goods from the Amazon Store. On this occasion it was e-books In summary Amazon are fraudulently enabling other people to buy stuff with your credit card. Your credit card details are stored with Amazon on their systems and the person making the purchase is not asked to verify any details about the card. In fact the purchasor does not even need to know the credit card details to buy products! Be aware of this especially when buying an electronic device from Amazon which is intended as a gift for someone else!! Just imagine what financial loss you could incur if the product was delivered to a wrong address

When purchasing a Kindle from Amazon, it does give an option to mark as a "Gift" during check out so that the Kindle is not registered to you, the buyer.

You also have the ability to un-register any Kindle from your Amazon account in "Your Account" then "Manage My Kindle". So, if your Kindle did not show up/you meant it to be a gift, you could un-register it from your end.

If there were any unauthorized purchases made on the Kindle, contact Amazon Customer Support. They are very helpful and understanding. They can also un register the Kindle from your account as well as talk about the options if refunding is available.

Amazon in Houston, Texas - Gift Card RIP OFF!!

Tried to use gift card on site, had customer NON-service assist - hit with "pre-authorization" charges that were initially removed when card could not be processed. For 5 days, still has not be refunded. Customer NON-service said it takes 7-10 days for them to refund....then told me I need to call the issuer to refund it, that "we don't do that." Several run ins now with HORRIBLE customer service - leave you on hold for heaven knows how long, without resolution. Cancelling account now. Will use any other resource before using them ever again. Ridiculous and end result is run around. "VALUE OF LOSS - MY TIME that I won't get back!"

What a bunch of *** Amazon has some of the best customer service around, and yes, when you use a credit/debit card you get pending charges!! Don't use financial products if the policies are too complicated for you to understand!!

Inconsiderate Amazon seller and no response

I ordered an item as a Christmas gift, which was actually given on Dec 28th, as we traveled to the recipient's home after Christmas Day. We didn't arrive home until after Jan 2, the deadline from the Amazon seller (ebusiness). My first request to return the item, which was around Jan 8 (I didn't then know about their deadline) went unanswered. I tried again and was told it wasn't returnable. So 3 things: 1) January 2 is an inconsiderate deadline.2) There's no excuse for not responding to a customer, and 3) it is nearly impossible to contact Amazon with a complains such as this. The menu of options doesn't address it as an option. What is, I suppose meant to make contacting them easy, is a lesson in frustration. Less business - far less - for Amazon from me, and none for ebusiness.

AMAZON STOLE MY MONEY

My amazon account had a $100 gift card balance on it. I placed an order with my credit card on Amazon and received a message that my account is on-hold until I fax in a credit card statement with my name and billing address on it. I was told my account would be restored once I fax these documents. Not only has my account no been restored but each time I fax in the required documents I receive a message that I did not fax in the documents they need, no explanation to what is missing from them and no help at all from customer support! I have reviewed the documents I sent several times and confirmed they do contain the information they asked from me.

AMAZON HOLDING CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, GIFTCARD, AND PROMOTIONAL FEES IN LIEU OF OUT OF STOCK MERCH

In December 2012, I purchased a game console from a trade in of text books in which I received a gift card. Found out 10 0f 13 books was received. Asked amazon about the 3 missing books. "You are responsible for the books". Compalined to customer service, and was given promotional credit for missing books. OK. Used gift card, promotional credit, and credit card to purchase console. Found out that game console is temporary out of stock (Over 14 days). Told that I could cancel, and order from other sellers. 1/5/13 and item is still out of stock. Why ask consumers to purchase items out of stock? why tell consumers that their credit card will not be charged until item is shipped? Oh! I forgot. consumer can not use promotional credit to buy items from other sellers who charge extra for shipping. Drum roll! Answer to each question above is simply frAud with a capital A(mazon). Please take a moment to contact the Attoney General in your state. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. Amanzon must be stopped. Reminds me of Shame Stop, if you follow my aim.

Amazon gift cards still want info irrelevant to card

Seems they want your credit card numbers and address. Stating it's to prove you are from the United States. I do not want to give them My credit card number at all, and they will not refund my money from the gift card. I can't find where it states buying a gift card requires giving them your credit card number in the policy, nor do they state they require credit card to use gift card to purchase downloadable pc games. When I state I don't want to use my credit card online at all, that's why I bought a gift card in the first place. They say it's required and will not refund gift cards. So what is the pupose of gift cards?

Amazon Lies

I bought a ice tea maker labeled as new. I got it in the actual box (no secondary box with padding) which was dented and destroyed (this was bought as a gift). When this was opened it was 100% clear it was a used tea maker (GROSS). And to boot it did not work. They are not responding to me nor making any effort to make this right! At this time I am extremely frustrated and plan to contact amex to dispute the charges as well as post a complaint with the BBB this is completely unacceptable. I hope they go out of buisness

Actually as a former employee of Amazon I can confirm they DO in fact send out out merchandise that was already marked as deffective. It was so frustrating working there and KNOWING you weren't doing right by the customer. WHen I finally complained I was fired like everyone else

Did you happen to call their customer service department? From the sounds of it, you may have purchased this from a third party seller.

If that's the case, they do have a process that protects you.

I'd give them a call before coming to the interwebs and ranting about it.

Amazon Gift Card
Hi ALL, have you been on this endless loop with Amazon ? I tried to purchase a gift card and got an Address-verification email (email number 1) from Amazon and my account was locked. I confirmed my visa debit details in a reply email as requested. After a day or so...

Yea... I'm going through the same thing right now lol... got the account locked and prompted to fax in a credit card billing statement - however, I'm using a debit card, it pulls any purchase right off my bank account, so I make a futile attempt to send in my account statement (with ALL the parameters they asked for and explanatory notes), after waiting half an aeon I get the same mail as before "DERP send us CC billing statement HERP" - I mail back and tell them this is what I can offer - they reply with the same *** copypasta "DURR send us billing statement"
