Amazon - Unreliable

So I am scheduled to travel on the 30th. I ordered a blowup bed on June 19th from Amazon warehouse deal (Order #113-4779624-7711431). I have Amazon prime which allows me to select delivery in 2 days. After I purchase I received notice that delivery will be on 6/27, 8 days time. I called on the 27th to ask why the product is still listed as not yet shipped while scheduled for delivery the same day latest 8pm. I was told if the product was not delivered on the 27th it will definitely arrive latest the 28th. Called Amazon again on the morning of the 28th and was assured that the product is being shipped an hour from where I live it will get to me before 8pm. 9pm product still not delivered. Call Amazon and I am told product is out of stocked, we apologize. I asked how will I be compensated for my inconvenience and I offer a month free Amazon prime membership. I already am not impressed with this prime membership since I have proven it to be inconsistent with keeping its promises. I am curious how often is this *** kind of service taking place and what's up with Amazon's system that would allows this kind of service. If I can't rely on Amazon to deliver on its promises then I am going to end up going back to the walk-in store to get what I need.

What happened to Amazon

Something has happened lately to Amazon. For years I heard from friends and family about Amazon's amazing customer service, the myriad of amazing products & expedited shipping. I signed up in Dec for ALL of my Christmas presents and EVERY SINGLE Amazon transaction has been a nightmare. Not received, companies that no longer operate, 2 day shipping is more like 5-7 days, drivers are awful in their lies of multiple attempts - yet no one is seen on any of our 6 home cameras having made any attempts to even drive by the house & God forbid don't try to make a return...... Any returns made (once you are done arguing with them about it 1st) they don't apply back to my Amazon card to which I made the original purchase but instead I racked up a credit of almost $200. (For the record, 1 credit actually went back to my card without asking for that type of refund - all others, they chose for me) The customer service reps are ill equipped to make any decisions, the hold button or mute button seems to be the way of their service and that is if you can understand what the person is saying. After accruing my nearly $200 credit, somehow, they 'couldn't' take the membership dues from the credit and they were still charged to my Amazon card.. I have given them several opportunities to prove it was a fluke as I believe companies all have employees that have bad days, they are human, but after the last 20+ contact attempts via chat, email and phone, unless every single employee is having a bad life, there is no excuse for the poor service for a place you have to pay for.. They should be giving away prime memberships.. If you haven't already signed up for a prime membership - DON'T DO IT!!!! (Not even the free trial)

Amazon - I was treated like a criminal when I called customer service

I emailed customer service about an order that had not even shipped for 3 days. I received an email back saying I would have to call customer service, so I did. After going through several menus on the phone I finally got to a real person who wanted every bit of information on my account repeated to him. After giving him my name and email account (several times by the way), he asked for and address on the account. I informed him there were several addresses on the account and I was not going to give him everyone of them when he had the information in front of him. He said he could not doing anything for me if I didn't give him all the information, then very rudely hung up on me without saying another word. Last time I order from Amazon!

$5 credit for Amazon slow shipping is a rip off

All this does is save Amazon money by suckering you into accepting delayed shipping for a $5 credit. When you attempt to use the credit with the Amazon Pantry, Amazon slaps on extra shipping charges which makes the offer absolutely useless. In fact, it may even penalize you! Check it out, compare both ways. Unfortunately, this is the first time I've experienced Amazon using a cheap *** like this. Too bad, because even Amazon can stumble and others will slip into the space. Personally, I will no longer automatically assume that Amazon has a good price and begin shopping at other sites and compare the true, out-the-door delivered cost. Ultimately, this is good for the consumer. Perhaps Amazon has become a little too big?

So, apparently, if you are not a member of their "Prime" bs, your order just sits in limbo until they decide to get it moving. Placed $188 order 6/14 (qualified for free shipping), item was in stock- sold and shipped by amazon- and was to ship 6/16. The website now says 6/19. Apparently free shipping means "you ain't paying for shipping so we will send it when we are *** ready to." Tried to cancel in order to buy from competitor, Summit Racing, that guarantees same day shipping, but alas the website will not let me cancel order. This has happened to me before with a previous order. Took 2 weeks before I reveived my items. I will likely close my account after this transaction eventually completes. They need to be upfront with accurate and reliable shipping dates for ALL customers, not just the mamby pamby Prime ones. Yet another example of a good company going to *** because of their excessive internal bloat.
