Amazon review in San Diego, California: Bad software to foster site dependence

Amazon.com. At one time I recommended this site to anyone shopping. Now I would not recommend this site to my enemies. Amazon.com has corrupted their MP3 downloader so that you will get so frustrated that you will save your songs to their new Cloud Player. When you run out of space, you will have to buy more space. Customer service reps will not help with download problems because if you get what you want their is no incentive to use Cloud Player. They push you to use Cloud Player when their is a problem and these days their is always a problem. They made me so mad that I cancelled a big order. In retaliation, customer service cancelled the order but did not notify the bank of the cancellation, so 3 days later the bank is still holding the money waiting for amazon.com to claim it. When contacted the reps had no idea of what the problem was. Amazon was once my online shopping site of choice, they have now earned a place on my *** List. Companies on my *** List do not get any of my business, even if they have the best price and are the only site selling the item I want. Thanks amazon for jerking me around. In the coming months I will have saved a lot of money that would have been spent on your site.

I dislike Amazon's requirment to install their downloader software to buy an album.

To download 12 songs directly onto my MP3 player one at a time would cost $3 more than the album, so I installed their downloader, got the album, then immediately un-installed the downloader and cleaned my registry and file system of all its left-overs.

I avoided the "cloud" entirely.

I have had a similer experience with LaserShip in my area (NoVa), I ordered a book, a textbook in fact, a fairly expensive textbook, from Amazon and it was delevered by this LaserShip company, I ordered it with my free 2 day shipping expecting to get it on the third day (as is usual with 2-day amazon shipping), well on the third day it was no where to be found, ate dinner, still nothing, 8pm came and went, nothing, then as I was going to bed I happened to look out front and what do I see but a book shaped box sitting on the grass in the middle of the front yard! oh, and it rainied that night....

I called LaserShip and they told me that it was delevered around noon, and that their employees are to ring the doorbell and are not ever supposed to leave a package in the yard (DUH!). I called Amazon and the rep on the phone told me that they have had many complaints about this shipper in the past and that they were reevaluating thier shipping Carriers.

Well a year later I order a (very expensive) Phone and guess who is shipping it.... we will see if they do any better this time...

The worst delivery service I've ever experienced. They claim to have attempted my delivery 20 minutes ago but no one was home.

The only problem is I am sitting on my couch five feet from the front door. Even worse is that this is the third time they have attempted a phantom delivery. I have not had a door tag left on any of my attempted deliveries and twice I have called customer service and requested the package be left on my porch which I was told would not be a problem. Yet I still have no package.

This is inconceivable to me I can't understand how a company can operate so poorly. Stick with UPS or FedEx!

Amazon and Fedex

I have spent thousands and thousands over the years ordering from Amazon.com. The service used to be excellent but suddently they started using FedEx Smartpost and no matter if I pay extra or not, my order will sit somewhere for days. Right now a book has been sitting in the Denver facility for two days. I live 2 hours away. Then I predict it will come to my town in Buena Vista, Colorado and sit there for two days. The facility is a half mile away from my house. Then to the P.O. for a day. SmartPost is dumbpost. It is not Amazon's service that I am complaining about but their use of Fedex Smartpost as their carrier. The Post Office has told me that Fedex Smartpost doesn't leave the Denver facility until they have enough to make the trip worthwhile. I don't know about that. I rarely use the FREE shipping with Amazon anymore but pay and it doesn't seem to make any difference in shipping time. Wake up, Amazon.com!!!

Amazon Is Great For Screwing Their Merchants

Amazon Screwes their merchants to benefit the consumer even if they are lying. So now, I buy stuff online from amazon and place a false claim to get my money back. I started to screw the merchants after I was screwed unfairly. So go to amazon and place an order and pretend you did not get it. very simple. Place an order with amazon fullfilment and just tell them that you have a rash or an issue with the product. Use it until the end and return it. Do the same thing over and over until amazon realizes that and open a new account later.

Do the honest thing instead. Report Amazon to the better business bureau:

https://alaskaoregonwesternwashington.app.bbb.org

Don't screw over innocent sellers.

I realize of course your comments are probably being sarcastic. You are right that by having such unethical policies, Amazon is basically encouraging theft.

Don't let them get by with it and don't stick it to innocent sellers. It just perpetuates the problem and Amazon doesn't care if these folks get screwed.

Take it out on Amazon, not innocent sellers.

Her point isn't lost on me. Buyers do this day in and day out and Amazon's incompetent policies make it so it slips off Amazon's back and hits the seller square in the face.

Basically the buyer can say: "I never recieved the item" (even if they did) and "I tried to contact the seller" (even if they didn't) and amazon will send one email that looks like spam to the seller. If the seller catches it, they can respond and supposedly 'won't be held responsible if everything checks out' but if they miss that email (easy to do, it looks like all of Amazon's other spam) then Amazon just hits them with the full charge, tells the buyer they can keep the item, and literally cuts off communication with the seller.

(they tell you they will no longer respond to your emails. At that point post what happened up here and contact the Better business bureau www.bbb.org since the bbb will force amazon to consider and reply to your arguments until it is settled.

I sell products on Amazon. People claim that the product is no good or want the full refund.

Amazon refunds them without your authorization and doesn't even follow up to get the product back to you. Amazon merchants get screwed all the time.

So, yes you can screw people by buying products and put in a false claim. Amazon doesn't care because they are not paying for it.

I am a seller on Amazon, a sole tradre who started with nothing and work *** hours making this my living. Why do you think that you are so special to screw people like me over, guessing someone who probably doesn't work for no reason and gets my money from the state too. Wish I could come to your house and STEEL what is/isn't yors so you know how it feels

This person probably doesn't think they are committing fraud and can be arrested for it. There wouldn't be so many sellers on Amazon if it was that easy to defraud them. You just got screwed because you either didn't follow their policies, or didn't follow through

Stay Away from Amazon if your a Seller.....Get things free if your a buyer, just filed a false claim

I was a new seller with amazon and I don't have problems with people because I am fair and pride myself on doing things right! Until I became a seller on Amazon. One guy knew that all he had to do was find any reason to file a claim and he would get his money back, and even said thanks for the item it's nice, can you send the case too and if you don't I will file a claim....then I recieved a negative email from amazon which prompt me to ask, what recourse does sellers have and the person said oh we have none, but you can appeal, I thought something doesn't add up then another buyer turn around and did the same thing, and request to close my account with them and I will not do business with them ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazon review in Washington, District Of Columbia: Overpriced

Update by user Jun 08, 2011

Where I say $138, it should say $138 more.

Original review posted by user Jun 08, 2011

I just purchased a Canon PowerShot SX130 IS Digital Camera for $191 from Amazon and Fingerhut list the same Camera for $329. That is a 72% mark up on the same product. If you don't believe me do the math or have someone who can do the math for you. Here is the website http://www.best-price.com/product/canon-powershot-sx130-is-digital-camera/101677493/1/ I got the information off of. However, Fingerhut does not use the exact name as the others Canon 12MP/12X Zoom Digital Camera, but on close up it is the exact same as what I ordered. I do not understand why Fingerhut's prices are so much higher. It does not make sense. I know we live in a capitalist country and if people will pay that price then it is not a crime to charge, in my opinion if I owned a company, I would have good ethics and keep my prices fair. I don't care how big my company is, I would not try and over charge people for products, that in this case they find $138 cheaper. So people if you have access, go to a website that will give a comparison of prices and pick the best price. I do not know how a company could stay in business, somehow, someway people are not forced to use Fingerhut, but have no other option. That is the only reason I could see someone paying $138 for the same product.

Anytime you buy anything off the internet that cost more than a cheap meal best to check several sites before placing the order. Amazon retail prices are also wildly inflated.

No idea why. They had Mountain House camp food listed as retail for $44., sale priced 78% discount which if I recall correctly, was about $11 for their 4/person breakfast meal. A check at the Mountain House website the same was RETAIL priced at about $9, so you are actually paying more than retail. I contacted the Amazon seller and they said "they didn't notice".

Same for other items such as fishing equipment but those retail prices are harder to verify. Just bought a pair of name brand tennis shoes. The exact same pair was RETAIL priced three different places on Amazon and varied by $20 although the sale prices were within about $6. It makes shopping at Amazon confusing.

A buyer may think they got a better deal with a jacked up retail price, than an honest sellers pricing.

If Amazon wants to maintain it's integrity simple errors like this should not be ignored.

They can change it but they don't. Walmart or Amazon it is getting all the same now-a-days.

This is a complaint against Fingerhut which is so very expensive. Why is it listed as a complaint against Amazon?

Anonymous

You must have read the price of a seller on Amazon, as Amazon sells it for the price you paid.

when it comes to fingerhut the catch is you can make montlhy payments but they over charged on all of their products which is why the camera cost that much more.

Or could it be that you entered in your new info but didn't make it your current payment method and then Amazon attempted to charge the one designated by you as your primary payment option. And you don't realize the collection agent is "partnering" with you against Amazon to get payments? A common collection practice,
