Possible way to resolve Amazon Rental claims of damage... First I got the following email: Dear ..., Thank you for returning your rental.
We were not able to accept your return for the following reasons: Water Damage You have been charged $57.62 for the item. We will return the item to you within 30 days and it is yours to keep. Item Purchased Essentials of Sociology Essentials of Sociology Purchase date: December 5, 2018 MANAGE YOUR RENTAL Purchase Charge Summary Purchase price:$68.58 Rental credit:- $14.98 Total before tax:$53.60 Tax:$4.02 Total charges:$57.62 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I went to the Amazon website and asked to be called back (Let Us Help You--> Help--> Need more help? -->Have us call you They called back quickly.
On hold briefly. Talked to someone I'd guess Philippina, loud call center. Talked, she said to email back to the email that was sent (the above email). I asked for a supervisor.
She said it would be refunded. A few minutes later sent this: Hello..., This is Marie, the supervisor who assisted you earlier. I've requested a refund of $57.62 to your credit card.You'll see the refund on your credit card statement in the next 3-5 business days. Once processed, you'll also be able to see the refund request here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/css/summary/edit.html.........

It pretty much sucks that they will keep insisting that you email a seller who won't even respond to THEIR emails for whatever reason.
I have been told so many times to just wait for the seller to respond, the cancellation has already been requested...well it's obvious that if the seller is dead or simply no longer selling, they won't be answering, 9 days have already passed and the book hasn't shipped.
What I don't like, is that they tell you to file a claim when you can't do that because 30 days haven't passed, and neither has the estimated shipping date.
I want to buy my item elsewhere, and I don't want this person to be able to charge me on the 29th day after I already bought another copy from some where else.
Then I would have to pay to return the item to get a refund. If Amazon would just cancel the thing, I wouldn't have to be worried about this.
I doubt the seller will be responding, though, as they have not sold anything in 2 years!
The Amazon third party policies are ***!
I've had nothing but "issues" with their third party sellers, either way overcharged for shipping, or overcharged & never receiving the product. 3 of 3 last 3rd party orders, all became an issue.
No thanks. I will never order from a 3rd party again & even items that appear to be from Amazon, I will be calling to verify.
