No Quality Control | Amazon review from Lisle, Illinois

I Recently purchased 3 phone cases. All three cases were defective in that they didn't fit the phone. They are not usable. Not only am I fighting reimbursement for two of the cases, I am stuck with all the erroneous shipping charges because they dont care what kind of garbage is being sold. 20 emails later, I still don't have a refund on two cases, either. And the companies will help refund my money if i take down my bad reviews. Are you kidding me? There is no quality control. If I didn't like it, I would pay the charges, but not when it's unusable. Amazon won't return my call or email, either.

I agree. The worst part is they ship the products out through Amazon Fulfillment.

Amazon.com is a software scammer...

DO NOT CLICK CONTINUE AND DOWNLOAD OR COMPLETE ORDER, they'll *** around some 'process' debit your card - and subsequently try to cram it down your throat. I quit at 'Sorry, can't process your transaction' - only to find they subsequently debited and now want me to eat the $387. Then, though they advertise 'Returns are Easy' these are the hardest sales tactics I've ever experieinced - from anyone, especially an Amazon.com. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AMAZON.COM.. They are rude, arrogant - I had to walk directly to the bank, close my account and my card. I'm more than PISSED !!

totally agree. I just hit the try prime button by mistake and without so much as a confirmation or asking me if I was sure I wanted that it debited $84.95 + another $1.00 from my bank account and now the refund won't even come through according to them for 7-10 days. They debited within 30 seconds and now cannot refund.

In response to the previous comment - yes, the huge major fault of apex_media is that they charge an exorbitant amount as the purchase price of the book: 2-3 times what the retail price.

There are many complaints about this company and I'm appalled that Amazon allows them to continue doing business.

I live in Canada. I purchased a tent from amazon.com. They charged me $46.24 for import fees deposit ("if needed"). When the tent arrived the receipt shows subtotal price $141.95 + $25.54 shipping and handling and the order total was $213.73. No mention of the import...

Let's call this "import deposit" ploy on the part of Amazon what it truly is : a racket designed to get more money out of you without any effort on their or goods delivered. They bank on the fact that most people will not contest, or simply forget about, the exorbitant amount extracted from them by this subterfuge.

Amazon knows they have crossed the threshold of credibility with this ruse and that they are treading on very thin legal ice bordering on outright criminality. If you find yourself, like I did, victimized by this scam just retaliate in the successful manner that I did. Contact their HELP link and fire off an email making a nonnegotiable demand for the return of the full amount of their bogus "import deposit".

Include a reference to the fact that you have forwarded a copy to the US Department of Justice / Consumer Fraud Division. You, like I did, will receive your rebate within one-half hour of firing off the missive.

Amazon Blatantly Steals Money

I am pissed. The monetary loss may be small, but the time is something I will never get back. I placed an order for some guitar bridge pins for roughly $15. As any guitar player knows, you cant play your guitar without these pins. Here I am with a $1000+ paperweight guitar while I wait for these bridge pins. After nearly a week I have received no further emails other than Amazons confirmation which also stated the delivery date would have been within 5 days... I waited by the mail box with no results. I went on to amazon to check my order, and it turns out that they have banned and deleted my account for "suspicious purchases". I used my credit card that has my name, my address, and my phone number, how is that suspicious??? I then went into chat with seemingly Amazon's only chat representative "hans" and inquired as to what the matter was. He told me that he could not tell me anything and that amazon already contacted me... Amazon never called, emailed, or messaged me in any form. I asked what I had to do to get a response and expedite this process. He then asked me for my address, phone number, and bank phone number. He said ok that matches up with your account but I can not help you. He can not ship out my order because it is a "suspicious order". I asked for a refund because I can easily order elsewhere. He then told me that he can not issue a refund because they already billed me and now my account is gone and he can-not access it. I asked about him not being able to access it at all and he says he sees no information about me having an account or placing an order. I then asked how he knew A) that the billing info, and numbers matched my account if he could not view it, and B) How he previously gave ME the order number and told me that it was flagged as "suspicious". He then told me in all caps "YOU CAN NOT RECEIVE A REFUND, AND WE CAN'T SHIP YOUR ORDER" and then disconnected from the chat.

In fairness to Amazon, I sell on their site I have had the experience where I attempted to have shipped items to customers and got it back with the Post Office in their town claiming the address was bad. I don't know what bad means, maybe the addressee was subletting but I know the address existed on the Google map. It stinks when it happens cause not only does the seller look bad and lose money on the mailing cost and then has to refund 100% of the money but the buyer is annoyed.

A relative who has lived in the same house for over 30 years their birthday card I sent via USPS was returned with a note the address didn't exist. Years back the birthday gift they sent me with the correct address on it they claim, was delivered to a home 1200 miles away. Fortune for the relative the package was insured . . . but I didn't get a gift that year cause they were mad.

Jobs are at a premium, still one cares how they do their job and worse the bosses don't bother to follow up on customer complaints.

If the vendor shipped it, why is it the vendor's fault? Sounds like it was the USPS's error.

Amazon will not back up any warranty claims

I am through with Amazon, I have had a few products that where defective from amazon. If the seller is willing to take it back, or exchange it great. But if they say no, Amazon will not back you up, they would rather keep the seller happy. Beware nothing has a guarantee that they can't get out of. The worst part is trying to get there attention, even after a few e-mails and calls I could not get a response except for form letter type e-mail. that basically told me tough ***. The worst part is I am easy to please, all I wanted was to swap the defective disc for a good one Hope someone comes along and does it better thanks Tom

Stuffy2, not sure what your angle is or where your information comes from but it doesn't match with my own recent Amazon experience. August 2013 I had an absolutely horrific experience with what I believe you call 'an outside merchant". A seller who posted on Amazon but the item was shipped from their own location and I was charged shipping fees. Seemingly it was the actual business owner who was emailing me terrible berates, in addition to claiming outright lies regarding the transaction and what was sent. Wmailed Amazon customer service to advise them of the situation immediately hopeful that they would intercede on my behalf, but their responses were vague. If they were concerned I have no evidence. The emails kept coming.

Just a few hours before I was advised by the A - Z Guarantee team full refund was pending and should appear on my bank statement within 2-3 days, the outside merchant demanded I return the item in like new condition that he would be able to resale as new. He knows the package once opened can not be passed off as new. So what did Amazon do for me?

I got my money back YES, although the merchant representations were not truthful at the time of purchase so that isn't any great concession.

I have no information provided this merchant was in anyway disciplined Stuffy2. Had he had a bricks and mortar store in my town the local police would of been able to file felony charges against him for the email contents sent me, yet Amazon didn't even acknowledge them in their correspondence with me. So how is that high standards? Ignoring felonious conduct of a Seller?

Finally, whether I return the item or not I risk this merchants further wrath which I have no recourse. Stuffy2 you claim know Amazons upholds high standards? I feel violated and abused by an Amazon Seller. Amazon knows and I heard nothing other than I get my money back. I wish you would let me and other people who come to this site know how they can get the benefit of Amazon's highest standards.

What I purchased was new, when I opened it, it was defective. When I contacted the seller they said it was not returnable or exchangeable the moment I opened it.

I guess that means there is no such thing as defective ?

When I contacted Amazon they backed up the seller with a form e-mail, they would not call me back. This isn't just bad customer service, it's no customer service.

You are incorrect. If Amazon.com receives complaints against any of their outside merchants they will shut them down, regardless of how big they are or how much profit they bring in.

Amazon.com sets very high standards for customer service.

Your complaint, if filed with Amazon.com, will be another bad mark against that merchant. A few bad marks and that merchant will get booted out and will no longer able to sell any products on Amazon.com.

Kindle PURCHASE retroactively changed to 1-yr SUBSCRIPTION by Amazon

I have a large number of expensive reference books as Kindle books. All were purchased a permanent (not subscription, not rental) - now 2 of them were retroactively changed by Amazon to 1-yr subscriptions. No notice to me. Interestingly all of Amazon's invoices emails etc are live links - so they can change all of them to reflect the new title which is "spec ---book title --- one-year subscription. The only prevention I can see is screen shots, but of course I didn't have them before I knew about this. Amazon's answer to a phone call - "you can't prove it".
