EU creditcard discrimination

May 24, 2008 Amazon complaint |

Has anyone living east of Italy and Austria realized it is practically impossible to buy anything through Amazon's listed retailers? I have asked four times for the reason but just get fobbed off with a. most retailers don't want to deliver outside the UK (since when were Austria and Italy in the UK because they DO deliver there?), and b. "We are unable to extend the Amazon Payments service to your country (Slovenia)..."
Funny, I thought the EU was supposed to remove trade barriers and here's Amazon of America imposing them on the EU!
It's their loss but it makes me angry that Slovenian trade, it would seem, is not to be trusted. If the truth's known, they probably don't even know where it is.
