Amazon; 140 days late, still no delivery

Amazon complaint by EricL
I ordered a cell phone from Amazon on January 3, 2008. Today is May 22, 2008, and the phone still has not been delivered.

I contacted their customer service department several times, and was assured repeatedly that they were having troubles with their supplier but the phone would be available soon.

But this is ridiculous. When a company offers something for sale, it's with the understanding that they actually HAVE that item to sell. What kind of morons offer something for sale, then string customers along for months until one turns up?

If their supplier isn't coming through, what are they waiting for? Are they hoping to find one on the way to work?

This is some of the lousiest customer service I've experienced for quite some time.
